Dear Friends of Estonia –

We hope this letter finds you well. It was such a blessing to see many of you at our last meeting in Kingsport, Tennessee. What a fun time! The notes from our meeting are available on the website in case you were unable to come or want to look back over the notes. It was a grand time together as always!

And, now, it is our great pleasure to announce that we will have our next F.O.E. meeting in the wonderful country of Estonia! The dates are June 10-18, 2017, with the main Gathering in Tallinn at the Baltic Mission Center. The general schedule for this is listed below, and there is a lot of flexibility within those dates for you or your team to tailor it to your schedule (please note, however, that details are continuously being worked on and may change slightly). The actual F.O.E. meeting (or what we call the “F.O.E. Gathering”) is on Wednesday, June 14; this will not change. There are some exciting opportunities at this Gathering, including visiting your Connecting Congregation, exploring and learning some history of the UMC in Estonia, visiting Helsinki, serving local ministries, meeting people, and enjoying beautiful Tallinn. (See full schedule at bottom of email.)

We would love feedback from you about this meeting and have created a survey to help us better tailor this Gathering to your needs and to know where we may need to help you or your group in getting there. This survey would be helpful for you to take, whether you plan on going or not – in fact, if you have been to Estonia, you can help us make this Gathering a success by taking this survey. It is for planning purposes only, so there is not pressure for right or wrong answers. When you take this survey, you will see questions about regional tours in Estonia for the UMC church. We did this in 2011 and found it gave great context to the UMC in Estonia. Please fill out the survey by clicking this link:

Many of you may also be sending a mission team along with your group attending the F.O.E. Gathering. We encourage this greatly. We especially encourage you, specific mission in mind or not, to spend time with your Connecting Congregation if you have one. This is a time for fellowship and encouragement. We also invite you and your church to think outside the box and realize that the team or people you send this year may look different than your annual mission team(s) – it is a great opportunity to pull in people who may not otherwise go. Maybe even consider sending two different teams over the summer. For those of you who have never sent a team, it is a great opportunity to send people to explore possibilities, to see Estonia, and/or meet your Connecting Congregation. We have people willing to help you plan if you need it. We encourage your team planner to let either one of us know you plan on coming and if you need assistance or help in planning. Please don’t hesitate in contacting us for questions. We want to make this Gathering as smooth as possible. Our contact info is:

We will be sending out more information as time comes. We are so excited to be in Estonia in 2017!!

Blessings,

Rachel and Jim Davis
