From Kaupo and Thea Kant (Voru)

We are really praising the Lord, as we are now worshiping and working in our own church buildin again.

In 1st of April we were able to bless 5 new members to church and on Easter Sunday was the dedication

worship.

We were most touched by the words of our city meer, who named us his friends. Also two of our workerers were in place and they were really touched by the worship and fellowship after.

Now we are working to get the routing going: To really grow to be a house of prayer, each day we have a mid-day devotional and prayer moment, people are using more times for counselling and we are finally starting to reach into pastoral ministry.

We were happy to host the regional Alpha conference, a mission group from Sweden ( to visit with them and do evangelism in Parksepa Secondary school, Krabi school – where are kids with learning and behaviour problems; Räpina, Viitka, Võru, Tartu prison and Taheva children-home)

Special prayers:

• Please pray for the health of Ligen – our new congregation member, God has done great work inside of her

but, still she suffers in the moment serious health problems, that the Lord will heal her and lift her up.

• Please pray for Estonian Aldersgate community reunion on Pentagost and the discernment about the

direction to move further to bring renewal and Holy Spirit into Methodist church

• VBS in June 11-14

• VIM week June 24-30 with Estonian volunteers

• ENglish camp July 2-12 witg Greater Europe mission

• Youth summer mission July 17-22/ Bus-Mission in Tallinn 23-28 with Heartbeat Tallinn

• Summer Conference 23-26.08 in Camp Gideon

We pray that the Lord will call a new youth leader, as Lea is leaving to maternity leave from June.

From Mall Tamm (The Lighthouse)

• We ask to pray for our summer projects and very new kids we had this month.

• For kids parents and for our finances could be on level we do not have to worry about future.

• We are thankful to God we have good partners near us and please pray for our partners too.

Lemme Aulis (Estonian Speaking Youth Ministry)

• There are nights I am getting much better sleep indeed. Praise God for that! :)

• Joel is writing his final paper and he really needs to finish his studies this year. First deadline for

him is on the 11-th of May when he needs to have at least 70% of his work ready so he has a little

more than a week to work on his paper and then he needs to defend it. Then he has some more time

to finish his studies and his paper by June. So please pray God would give him wisdom, patience,

strength and endurance to accomplish what he needs to accomplish.

• We are working on getting ready for our Summer Camp financially and in other ways as well. So

please keep us in your prayers – that we would be able to raise the money we need and everything else

would get done as well.

From Maire (Ivanova) Latvala (She is a pastor formerly connected to Agape in Parnu, getting her

PhD and works with a Student Movement)

• My parents are doing better indeed – not too much, but still some little change has taken place.

Probably the beautiful weather of springtime+a lot of light help along. I am really thankful to notice at

least some change in them…

• My dissertation is still not so far as I would have wanted, but I will continue with the battle! In May I

will pick up again the student work (I had some time off again).

• Yesterday we went with our students to Tartu city center. There are Student Days going on – some

fun events before examination period. So we took part in Student Market – people selling all sorts of

funny things – some seriously (with a plan to sell something), some were there to have fun and imitate

selling (shouting and offering weird things). So we went with students, and offered some cookies,

candies with Bible verses for free, and an opportunity to write down prayers and hang them to the tree

branch we had brought along. And we gave out flyers with our information. To our great surprise, so

many people were positive towards us, and some wrote down prayer requests. 2 requests I remember

were: 1. for a boy and girl who were in children’s home – that they could go back to their mother (of

course we do not know what the situation is), 2. for a 14-year old boy Andrus who has cancer. Later in

the evening we prayed for those requests and will do this in future too.

• On Tuesday Jana and Priit Tamm (Tartu Methodist Church) will come to speak about relationships

and marriage to our students. We pray that also some of the people whom we invited on the street

would come and be touched by God somehow.

• As a personal note: I am thinking what could be my home church – should I join Tartu Methodist

Church and what could be my contribution to the church. Up until now I have felt close connection to

Pärnu Methodist Church, but as I go there rarely, it would be logical to find a church closer by. The

big question is about how to serve God – I am not used to sit in the back pew, doing nothing… But I

want to sit still until God shows a way…

From Mark Nelson

Good morning everyone.  A short time ago I sent out an email with a story about Maina, our mission partner among the Ud,murt people.  A double tragedy has happened to her family, and so I want to ask you to pray for them.

In mid April, Maina’s daughter (who graduated from our Fin,no-Ug,ric Mission and Bible school program in August) got engaged.  A few days ago the fiance was helping Maina’s family do renovations on their house.  It was a very old two story house in terrible condition.  What exactly happened, I don’t know, but the second storey collapsed, killing the young man and making the house unliveable.

Three weeks after getting engaged, this young lady lost her fiance, and the entire family lost their home.  I understand that they are currently living in the basement.  Because of how this tragedy happened, Maina and her husband will probably feel a terrible sense of guilt, even if it obviously was an accident.  Please pray for them.

On Monday our Estonian missions team will decide how best to set up a project to allow people here to give a love offering to help this family rebuild.  I have also spoken with OMS about the possibility of setting up a similar project in North America.  Obviously there are some legal technicalities that have to be carefully worked through.  I will let you know what happens.
